Junior Developer - Entry Level (NY)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a junior developer with a strong academic background who is highly motivated and can work in a challenging environment. The Junior Developer will support and monitor trading applications, perform analysis, back testing, research and development, and programming assignments.  The ideal candidate is an individual with great aptitude, a strong sense of responsibility, a strong knowledge of software development best practices, and an ability to proactively approach problems.

Skills/Qualifications

Position requirements include B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field and no more than 2 years experience.  Should have strong knowledge of C++ and some exposure to C#.  This position requires working knowledge of scripting (UNIX shell, Perl, Python), SQL, and Source Control (subversion preferred).  As PFTC is a multiplatform environment, strong knowledge of how to get work done both in Windows and Linux is essential.  Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently as well as be a team player.

Knowledge of the Securities/Derivatives industry is a significant plus.

Junior DBA - Entry Level (NY)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a junior SQL Server DBA with a strong academic background who is highly motivated and can work in a challenging environment. The junior DBA will support and monitor multiple databases and servers. The ideal candidate is an individual with great aptitude, strong sense of responsibility, strong knowledge of database design and administration, and an ability to proactively approach problems.

Skills/Qualifications

Position requirements include B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field with 2 – 3 years of experience in a multiple SQL Server environment (2008 is preferred). Key skills include database backup/restore, multi-site administration, T-SQL, performance tuning, profiling and documentation. SSRS, SSIS and scripting experience a plus.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently as well as be a team player.

Knowledge of the Securities/Derivatives industry is a significant plus.
